General Directions
One of the few remaining long course duathlons in the country, this 5K – 56 mile – 13.1 mile event will prove why duathlon is so tough. Combine Macon heat with the demands of over 16 miles of running and 56 miles of biking and you have yourself a true tester of grit and determination. Those brave enough to begin and skilled enough to make it to the finish will enjoy a great post-event celebration complete with live music, hot food and cold beer. The 2011 Long Course Duathlon will be open to individuals and relay teams.

There is a $12.00 fee for each non-USAT registrant.

Event Site Rules

Event Capacity
This event is limited to the first 300 registrations.

Mandatory Bike Check In
All participants in the Duathlon must check in their bikes on Friday May 31, 2013 between the hours of 1PM and 7:15PM. If you do not check in your bike during this time you will not be allowed to race.

USAT Sanctioned
The Rock ‘N RollMan Duathlon is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event. All USAT rules will apply.

Cut-Off Times
All participants must complete the event in under 7 hours, 00 minutes from the start of the event. Event officials reserve the right to pull a participant off the course if it appears as though that participant will not be able to complete the event in under 7 hours, 00 minutes.

Individual Discipline cut-off times are listed below as cummulative times from the start of the final swim wave:

Run : 1: 00 hours 45 minutes
Bike: 4 hours 30 minutes
Run: 7 hours 00 minutes

Medical Form
The medical form is mandatory and must be filled out and turned in before you can collect your event packet. Please download the form and bring it with you to packet pick up.

Minimum Age
The minimum age allowed for participating in the Rock ‘N RollMan Duathlon is 15 years of age.

 

PACKET PICK UP

Note: This time is the only time packet materials may be collected. If you do not collect you materials during this time you will not be allowed to race. There will be no exceptions to this rule.

Note: Participants must collect his/ her own event packets. This rule applies to relay team members as well. Photo ID is required in order to collect event materials. NO ID = NO EVENT. ALL USAT annual members must show a valid USAT membership card or pay the one day membership fee ($12).

ATHLETE BRIEFING
An athlete briefing will be held at the event site on Friday May 31, 2013 at 5:00PM. This meeting will be held beneath the covered gazebo area and will last about 30-45 minutes. The meeting will go over all aspects of the event is great detail. Questions will be answered and are encouraged

Aid Stations
BIKE COURSE
Aid stations on the bike will be positioned at 3 locations on the bike course. These stations will be found at approximately miles 15, 30 and 45. Stations at mile marks 15 and 45 will have water only in sports cap water bottles which fit nicely into a standard water bottle cage. The station at mile mark 30 will have water and Gatorade in sports cap bottles which fit nicely into a standard water bottle cage.
RUN COURSE
Aid stations on the run will be positioned approximately every mile. These stations will contain:

• Water and Gatorade Endurance Formula
• Hammer Gel and Electrolyte capsules
• Pretzels and other salty snacks
• Orange Slices
• Flat Cola
• Iced Rags
